Farm and animals

Mesón el Monasterio takes care of the animals. Our farm has free animals avoiding the melancholy of living in captivity. Our visitors can spend a pleasant moment in contact with biodiversity. It is also an opportunity to educate our children with values of respect and protection of nature.

Gardens and nature

We invest and take care of nature. A large number of pines and dragon trees adorn the environment, as well as native flowers under the care of professionals in the sector.

Banana plantation

There is an authentic banana plantation whose bananas are consumed by the restaurant itself. It becomes a way of investing "in green" by conserving the valley with a characteristic and typical plantation of Tenerife that in recent years has been disappearing. With prior notice you can have the opportunity to visit it.

Volcanic cone trek

Mesón el Monasterio is located at the foot of a volcanic cone, La Montaña. From the restaurant there is a path to hike and visit the cone that measures about 25 hectares and offers wonderful views. The Guanches reported an eruption in their encounters with the Castilians around the 13th century.

In 1987, the cone was declared a Natural Area of the Canary Islands due to its geological importance. It has a hermitage at its highest point. The vegetation is scarce and some archaeological remains have been found, such as some vessels, so the area was a place of passage or residence of the ancient settlers.

Gourmet Shop "El Monje"

Gourmet Shop El Monje offers our visitors the opportunity to buy wines and quality products. It is also a place to stop by to have a coffee or taste our cheese platter. There you can buy our famous and delicious artisan bread as well as some other products from our bakery.
